What Is New Game Plus?

New Game Plus in Stellar Blade lets you restart the campaign from the beginning while keeping most of the power and unlocks you earned during your first playthrough. It is the best way to clean up missed collectibles, try a higher difficulty, and chase the roughly 30 exclusive Nano Suits that only appear in NG+. Because the main and side quest progression resets, you will replay the story, but you will do so as a far stronger Eve.

Many players intentionally save the true ending for NG+ because the carried-over gear makes the 100% Lily run much faster. If your first run ended with Cost of Lost Memories, a second run is the perfect opportunity to hit every collectible and unlock Eidos 9 before the Orbit Elevator. See the All Endings Guide for how these choices connect.

What Carries Over

The following progress and inventory remain intact when you begin NG+:

  • Gold — Your entire currency balance transfers.
  • SP — Skill points you have not spent carry over.
  • Nano Suits — Every cosmetic outfit you unlocked stays in your wardrobe.
  • Exospines and Gear — Equipped and unequipped gear remains available.
  • Consumables — Healing items, grenades, and other disposable items transfer.
  • Database entries — Lore and collectible logs stay unlocked.
  • Weapon, Tumbler, and Omnibolt levels — Your upgraded equipment remains leveled.
  • HP, Beta, and Burst levels — Core stat upgrades carry over.

This means you begin the new run with a fully upgraded Eve, letting you breeze through early chapters and focus on anything you missed the first time.

What Resets

Not everything transfers. The following are reset when you start NG+:

  • Main story progress — You return to the opening chapter.
  • Side quest progress — All side quests must be redone if you want their rewards or Lily progress again.
  • Fast travel points — Camps and waypoints must be revisited and unlocked.
  • Key story items — Any progression-gating items tied to the campaign are lost until you reacquire them naturally.

Because collectibles are permanently unlocked in the database, you do not need to re-collect a can or Memory Stick to keep its entry. However, if you need the Lily progress from a specific item on a new run, you will have to pick it up again.

What Is New in NG+

The biggest draw of NG+ is the exclusive content. The mode adds approximately 30 new Nano Suits that cannot be obtained during a standard playthrough. These include expanded color variants and themed outfits that give completionists a reason to keep playing beyond the story.

In addition to new cosmetics, NG+ raises the level cap, allowing Eve and her equipment to grow even stronger. Extra Drone Upgrades become available, and new Beta and Burst skill nodes open up, giving you more build options for combat. Enemies also scale, so the game remains challenging despite your carried-over power.

Start NG+ on a difficulty you are comfortable with, especially if your goal is cleanup rather than challenge. With endgame gear, the early hours will feel easy, but enemy scaling in later regions still punishes careless play.

Prioritize collectibles as you go. Use our Collectibles Guide to track cans, Memory Sticks, and documents. Pair that with the Eidos 9 Secret Level guide so you do not miss the 100% Lily requirement for the true ending. If you skipped fishing on your first run, the Fishing Guide will help you unlock the Ocean Maid outfit while you are back in the early regions.

Level Cap Increases and Exclusive Outfits

The raised level cap in NG+ lets you push HP, Beta, and Burst even higher than before. It also lets you over-level weapons and gear, making harder difficulties more manageable. The exclusive Nano Suits are the real long-term reward, giving you dozens of new looks to mix and match at the Repair Console.

If you are a completionist, plan to run through NG+ at least once. Between the carried-over power and the new unlocks, it is the definitive way to experience everything Stellar Blade has to offer.
