Stellar Blade All Endings Guide

How to unlock all three Stellar Blade endings: Return to Colony, Cost of Lost Memories, and Making New Memories.

Last verified: 2026-07-02

The Point of No Return

Stellar Blade branches into three distinct conclusions, but the decisive moment arrives late in the campaign. The point of no return is the Orbit Elevator inside Spire 4. Once Eve steps onto the elevator and ascends, the game locks you into the final sequence and begins a chain of choices that determines which ending plays out. Make a manual save before this elevator so you can freely return and sample every outcome without replaying the entire game.

The endings are not chosen through ordinary dialogue. They hinge on whether you accept Adam’s hand during a key late-game prompt and, if you accept, on the current value of Lily’s progress bar. Because that bar is tied to collectible completion, your ending options depend heavily on how thoroughly you explored each region.

Lily Progress Bar Explained

Lily’s progress bar measures how much of the world’s lost history you have recovered for her. It fills by finding documents, Memory Sticks, hidden beverage cans, and completing certain side quests. The bar briefly appears in the upper-right corner whenever you pick up one of these items, and it is the hidden gatekeeper for the best possible ending.

Raising Lily to 100% is the only way to unlock the secret Eidos 9 stage before the Orbit Elevator. That stage is not just an optional dungeon; it contains essential story context and is required to reach the true ending. If you plan to see every conclusion, treat collectibles as a priority rather than an afterthought. Our Stellar Blade Collectibles Guide breaks down every document, can, and Memory Stick, while the Eidos 9 Secret Level guide explains exactly how the 100% unlock works.

How to Unlock Each Ending

Return to Colony

This is the simplest ending to obtain. When the final prompt appears and Adam offers his hand, refuse it. Eve does not ascend, and the story closes on the bittersweet "Return to Colony" conclusion. You can reach this ending regardless of Lily’s progress, so it is a safe fallback if you are doing a minimal collectible run.

Cost of Lost Memories

To see this ending, accept Adam’s hand while Lily’s progress bar is below 100%. The bond between Eve and Lily is not strong enough to overcome the cost of the choice, leading to the tragic "Cost of Lost Memories" conclusion. This outcome is common on a first playthrough because many players naturally miss a few cans or skip optional side content.

Making New Memories

This is the true ending and the most demanding to earn. You must accept Adam’s hand with Lily’s progress bar at exactly 100%. That means recovering every collectible source, finishing the relevant side quests, and visiting the unlocked Eidos 9 stage before the Orbit Elevator. When the conditions are met, the finale shifts to "Making New Memories," the most complete resolution to the story.

Efficient Two-Playthrough Route with NG+

The cleanest way to experience all three endings is to spread them across two playthroughs and use New Game Plus for cleanup. On your first run, play naturally, collect what you find, and pick whichever ending you earn. Most first-time players will land on Cost of Lost Memories because a few collectibles are easy to overlook.

After the credits, start New Game Plus. Carried-over gear and abilities make hunting the remaining cans, Memory Sticks, and documents much faster. Push Lily to 100%, unlock Eidos 9, and then choose Making New Memories at the Orbit Elevator. Once you have that save, reload the pre-elevator manual save from your first run or use a backup to select Return to Colony.

This approach avoids a full third playthrough and lets you experience the story progression with powered-up equipment. For full details on what transfers and what resets, see our dedicated New Game Plus guide.

Save-Scumming and Backup Tips

If you do not want to run the campaign twice, you can save-scum. Upload your save to PlayStation Plus cloud storage or copy it to a USB drive right before the Orbit Elevator. Watch one ending, restore the backup, and repeat. This works because the ending is decided at the elevator prompt, not by earlier chapters.

Keep a second backup before you enter Spire 4 if you are still hunting collectibles. Some sources can become inaccessible once you advance too far, so verify Lily’s percentage before moving past the point of no return.

Summary Checklist

  • Make a manual save before the Orbit Elevator in Spire 4.
  • Refuse Adam’s hand for Return to Colony.
  • Accept Adam’s hand with Lily below 100% for Cost of Lost Memories.
  • Reach 100% Lily progress, visit Eidos 9, then accept Adam’s hand for Making New Memories.
  • Use NG+ or save backups to collect missing items and view every ending.
