Stellar Blade Best Exospines

A ranked guide to the best Exospines in Stellar Blade for parry, dodge, damage, and exploration.

Last verified: 2026-07-02

What Are Exospines?

Exospines are powerful passive modules that Eve equips to change her combat behavior. Each one provides three related bonuses, such as wider parry windows, faster Beta Energy gain, or stronger stealth attacks. You find them inside red cube-shaped crates scattered across every region, and they can be upgraded with materials. Later in the story, Lily upgrades your Exospine rig so you can equip two Exospines at once.

Because Exospines can be swapped at any camp or inventory screen, you should treat them as situational tools rather than permanent choices. Change your loadout for tough bosses, long exploration runs, or specific combat challenges.

Best Exospines for Beginners

If you are still learning enemy timing, start with defensive options that forgive mistakes.

  • Reflex-Type Exospine — Found in Matrix 11. It regenerates your shield faster while guarding and makes both Perfect Dodge and Perfect Parry easier. This is the single best tool for learning the combat rhythm.
  • Protection-Type Exospine — Found in Eidos 7. It reduces incoming damage, raises your shield protection level, and can restore HP while guarding or parrying when your health is low. Equip this if you find yourself dying before you can react.

Once your parry timing improves, you will likely move away from Protection-Type in favor of offense. Check the Combat Guide for tips on parry timing.

Best Exospines for DPS

When you are ready to deal more damage, switch to these offensive choices.

  • Beta Trance-Type Exospine — Found in Matrix 11. It increases Beta Energy recharge, raises Beta Skill attack power, and gives Beta Skills a chance to enter a Trance that makes them free for a short time. Pair this with the priorities from the Best Skills Tier List such as Triplet and Slash.
  • Burst Trance-Type Exospine — Found in Matrix 11. It raises your max Burst Energy, increases Burst Skill damage, and recharges Burst Energy during level-4 combos. Excellent for boss fights.
  • Chain-Type Exospine — Found in Eidos 7. It boosts combo attack power, critical damage, and critical rate for high-level combos. A strong choice for players who prefer melee strings over special moves.

Best Exospines for Stealth and Exploration

  • Camouflage-Type Exospine — Found in the Wasteland. It decreases enemy detection range, increases melee attack power after a successful execution, and restores HP on execution. Combine it with the Ambush skill to remove dangerous enemies before open combat begins.
  • Eagle Eye-Type Exospine — Found in the Wasteland. It improves ranged attack power, increases ammo capacity, and can recover ammo when hitting enemy weaknesses from a distance. Useful in any section where gunplay matters.

Situational Picks

  • Suppression-Type Exospine — Found in the Great Desert. It increases shield penetration, extends downed duration, and boosts damage to downed enemies. Strong when paired with Burst skills that knock foes over.
  • Grenadier-Type Exospine — Found in Eidos 7. It boosts combat consumables such as grenades. Powerful against normal enemies but less effective on bosses.
  • Impact-Type Exospine — Found in the Wasteland. It raises critical rate and unleashes chained unstable energy on critical hits, making it ideal for crowd control.
  • Recovery-Type Exospine — Found in the Great Desert. It increases all recovery effects, reduces damage taken after using a potion, and recovers Beta Energy when using potions. A comfortable pick for long scavenging runs.
  • Judgement-Type Exospine — Found in Spire 4. It accelerates Tachy Energy charge, reduces Tachy Energy consumption, and damages nearby enemies when you manually leave Tachy Mode. A late-game option for Tachy Mode builds.
